PROJECT NAME
University of Sydney Health Precinct Stage 1
Facility for Medical and Health Education
Susan Wakil Health Building
LOCATION
Sydney, Australia
The $120 million, 22000 sqm, 9 storey project comprised the development of a new teaching and research building, incorporating the Sydney Nursing School, the Sydney School of Health Sciences, the Central Clinical School and components of the Faculty of Medicine and Health.
It includes library spaces, teaching spaces, research staff and specialist research facilities, a rehabilitation gym, student and staff break-out spaces, clinic areas and a 350-seat lecture theatre.
This state-of-the-art building brings together multiple health disciplines to work out of the same precinct. Working alongside each other creates unique inter-professional learning programs and multi-disciplinary research opportunities.
Minale Gerber (formerly Minale Tattersfield) planned, designed and documented signage in accordance with the University of Sydney Signage Manual, also created by Minale. Signage was coordinated with architects Billard Leece Partnership and Diller Scofidio + Renfro.
