PROJECT NAME
Sydney Olympic Park Sports Centre
LOCATION
Sydney, Australia
Sydney Olympic Park is a large sporting, cultural and leisure complex, developed for the Olympic Games in 2000. In 2014, a Netball venue was completed in the southern precinct together with a wide ramp which shares the plaza with the existing sports centre venue. This required wayfinding signage, place making and identification for the sports centre.
The Olympic Park brand and the original signage family were evaluated and the case was made to create signage that was more appropriate and feasible. Blue was chosen for wayfinding signs, consistent with the existing signage and silver for wayfinding and identity for the sports centre. The nomenclature process resulted in clear destination naming for the visitors who arrive for a wide variety of events.
