PROJECT NAME
Hurtsville CBD and Kogarah Town Centre Wayfinding System, Design Manual and Implementation
LOCATION
Sydney, Australia
The project for the areas of Hurstville CBD and Kogarah Town Centre included markers, flag signs and finger signs in a pedestrian environment.
Kogarah is a centre for Health and Education and Hurstville is a suburb with a majority non-English speaking population.
The dense urban environment and demographic required a small footprint for signage, a neutral background, plain English language and pictograms, as well as clear maps for ease of orientation.
Each sign type features an indigenous artwork.
The profile of the pylon is a rhomboid and the top is angled, therefore the appearance of the sign changes from different viewpoints.
