PROJECT NAME
Hornsby Shire Wayfinding System & Design Manual
LOCATION
Sydney, Australia
As part of a Public Domain project with a head consultant, Minale developed a suite of markers and a signage manual for the Hornsby Shire, the largest local government council in the Greater Sydney Metropolitan region with an area of 462sqkm and a population of around 153,000.
The design challenge for the markers was to incorporate the themes of nature and bushland, manufactured with standard materials to contemporary methods of fabrication that can be updated over the lifespan of the markers and signs.
The final design came about when the shape of the eucalyptus leaf and its different shades of green became the sign itself rather than forming a decorative element.
